OJD Trading

OJD Trading was founded in 1971 by Otto Johs. Detlefs. Given his background in trading semimanufactured products made of steel and non-ferrous metals, Otto Johs. Detlefs' idea was to become a subsupplier to Danish industry of such products.

Parallel to establishing the company as a sub-supplier to the industrial sector and in order to ensure quick turnover and profit - hence the brand name QUICK - brake and clutch companies in Denmark were visited with the aim of selling copper tubes in boxes. Working from his parents' cellar, this marked the beginning of the company's brake department. Subsequently the product range was rapidly expanded to embrace fittings for tubes, bleeder screws, pins and springs for disc brakes.

In 1974 the company moved into new premises in Solrød, and a period of rapid expansion throughout the 1980s and continued modernisation since means that today the company occupies premises totalling 5,500 m2.

Sennheiser Communications A/S

In 1945 Sennheiser was founded by Dr. Fritz Sennheiser in Wennebostel. For more than 50 years Sennheiser has been synonymous with quality products in the field of recording, transmission and reproduction of sound.

In 2003 Sennheiser Communications was founded as a joint venture between the Danish company William Demant Holding A/S and the German company Sennheiser electronic GmbH & Co. KG. Based in Solrød, the joint venture develops telecommunications products for contact centres, office applications and private users. Sennheiser Communications A/S specializes in creating integrated headset solutions, and offers multimedia, mobile, telecom and wireless headsets plus supporting products for private and professional requirements.

Because Sennheiser Communications exports approximately 90% of its total sales, Solrød south of Copenhagen is an ideal location, with excellent infrastructure, and close to the European market.
